National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, formerly known as Institute for Research in Reproduction is a premier research institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It is situated in the vicinity of a number of hospitals and research institutes in central Mumbai
. Since its inception in 1970, it has been making vigorous efforts to improve the reproductive health of people through research, education and health care services. The Institute is affiliated to the University of Mumbai which awards degrees to the M.Sc. and Ph.D students in the areas of Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry and Applied Biology.

Pay scale ( वेतन ) : (i) Post graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in Pediatrics/Obstetrics & Gynecology/ Medicine with five years R & D/ teaching experience or post graduate diploma in related medical subjects with six years of R & D/ teaching experience in the related subject after MBBS degree from recognized university. Or MBBS degree recognized by MCI or equivalent degree from recognized University with Eight years R&D/ teaching experience in the field of Pediatrics/Obstetrics & Gynecology/Medicine from recognized Institute(s) after obtaining essential qualification (ii) Minimum 2 years experience in a managerial position to handle R&D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity.

Job responsibilities / description ( उत्तरदायित्व) :(i) The candidate is expected to attend patients of genetic disorders, identify genetic syndromes, perform common genetics tests and render genetics counseling, perform prenatal detection of birth defects using sonography and laboratory methods. (ii) He/She would also be responsible for leading projects involving research in the areas of genetics. (iii) The candidate would be responsible for teaching genetics to medical students and research fellows.
