Lead Project Officer (Post Graduate)

Educational Requirements ( शैक्षिक आवश्यकता ) : Masters in Library and Information Science or any other science subject including mathematical science or computational science. Excellent analytical ability and good written and spoken communication skill in English essential.
Experience Requirements ( अनुभव ) : 7 years hands-on experience in development of a digital library especially in installation, set up, input form customization and trouble-shooting of a content management system package like Dspace and large volume metadata annotation and curation for a digital library/repository using services of programmers out of which at least 2 years in leading a team of curators involved in the type of work mentioned earlier Thorough experience in some of the followings:
o Planning, scheduling, monitoring and coordination of large volume metadata acquisition, analysis, annotation/curation work for a digital library
o Metadata standards and schemas (Generic and Domain-specific)
o DDC/LCC/LCSH/MeSH Classification Scheme
o MARC/SIP/AIP/XML data handling
o Harvesting Institutional Digital Repository
o Linux environment/commands, TeamViewer setup, MS-Word, Excel and Power Point
o Copyright issues for digital library/repository Responsibility for the position is to lead, guide, monitor and ensure quality and timely delivery from a medium-sized team of curators. It involves planning, scheduling and assigning tasks to team members, monitor progress and adherence to schedule to ensure timely delivery, review output, carry out quality assurance checks to ensure quality of deliverables and identify process changes and automation/tool support required to improve quality and productivity. Responsibility also includes preparing user-community specific demonstration and presentation for a large digital library and giving demonstration to different user communities. Posting: Kharagpur or Kolkata Other Benefit: o House Rent Allowance over and above consolidated salary as per Central Government norm if posted at Kolkata.
